I build and run my own software

I started as a developer. Twenty years of building my own products taught me the rest: deciding what to build, designing how it works, and architecting how it runs. Now that AI writes much of the code, that range is what counts.

Version history

Every product I built and ran, newest first.

  1. Now

    CTO · 2016 to now

The #1 platform for endurance coaches, endorsed by IRONMAN world champion Frederik Van Lierde. I built it from the first wireframe and now lead its technology full time.

  2. 2026

Tools I built for how I work now: next to AI agents, on a Mac.

    macOS app

Runs your coding agents, dev servers and terminals side by side, grouped per project.

    macOS app

Previews Mermaid diagrams. Your AI agent pushes them to a real window for review.

    macOS app

Drops every new screenshot on a floating shelf, one drag away from your AI agent.

    Desktop app

Opens Peppol invoices on your own computer, just like a PDF or Word file.

  3. 2023

    aikido-cli & Bitbucket

In Aikido's early days I built their aikido-cli and the Bitbucket integration.

  4. 2021

    Exit

Sold the invoicing platform I founded and built five years earlier.

  5. 2018

    Open source

A PHP library for UBL and Peppol invoices. 130+ stars, close to a million downloads, and I still help maintain it.

  6. 2016

    Founder · 2016 to 2021

Simple e-invoicing for freelancers and small businesses that replaced their spreadsheet admin.

    Maker · since 2016

Belgium and the Netherlands' #1 cheap-flight newsletter. Automated price scanning sends 90,000+ subscribers the best deals.

  7. 2013

    Went indie

Quit my developer day job to become a full-time, self-employed indie developer.

  8. 2011

    Web agency

    Web application developer · 2011 to 2013

Built web applications at a web agency.

  9. 2006

    Prepress industry

    Web application developer · 2006 to 2011

My first developer job: web applications for the prepress industry.

  10. 1997

    First version

    Maker · 1997 to 2006

Built my first personal websites at 12. As a teen I made sites for things like the In Flanders Fields Marathon, plus plenty of other tinkering projects.

  11. Pre-alpha

    Before the first version

For as long as I can remember, I've been at a computer: starting DOOM.EXE and DUKE3D.EXE from Windows for Workgroups 3.11, customising my mouse pointer in Workbench 1.3 on the , or watching BeOS over my father's shoulder.

Currently building, not for hire

I'm full-time CTO at Coachbox, so I'm not taking on freelance projects. Got something that genuinely needs me? Leave a note and I'll reach out when I free up.
